GEORGIA LOU STANSEL

May 21, 1942 – April 9, 2017


Georgia Lou Stansel, age 74 of Canton, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017 at North Fulton Regional Hospital. She was born May 21, 1942 to Jack and Lucille Bruce in Commerce, Georgia.

She is survived by children, Vicki Stansel Davenport of Canton, Tonya Stansel of Canton, Jeff and Tanya Stansel of Calhoun; Godson, Bradley and Heather Bruce; grandchildren, C. J. Davenport, Cole Davenport, Gabi Turem, Claude Stansel IV, Willow Grace Stansel, Raden Bruce; sisters, Peggy Ann Lowe of Tate, Colleen and Ray Roberts of Jasper; brother, Billy Jack Bruce of Dalton. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

She was preceded in death by sister, Jane Bruce; brother, Jimmy Bruce; sister, Nancy Roper; and brother, Coleman Bruce.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, April 14, 2017 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Johnny Padgett officiating. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Georgia Stansel Memorial Fund in care of Roper Funeral Home.

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper, Georgia.
