Michael Hubert Grimes
May 9, 1956 – February 28, 2018

Originally from Woodstock, Georgia, Michael was the youngest child of the late Hubert and Sarah Grimes. He has lived in Big Canoe, Georgia with his wife, Deborah Gail Deboard Grimes, since 1997.

Michael was retired from National Library Bindery. In retirement, he continued to work out of his home, practicing the craft of repairing and re-binding antique books, Bibles and other special requests from clients across the country.

Mike loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking and biking, not only in North Georgia, but also in National Parks all across the United States. He and Debbie were most fond of the time they spent in the mountains and canyons of Utah.

Michael was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Debbie Grimes, daughter Hannah Howell, and three grandchildren, Hunter, Gracie and Lawson Howell. He is also survived by two sisters, Brenda Atherton and Phyllis Nussman. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth and Marvin.

A memorial service and celebration of Mike’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3 at Trinity Church in Marble Hill (2685 Steve Tate Road, Marble Hill, GA) followed by a reception with family and friends.
