Life Legacy
Mrs. Kristina Ellen Prather, age 64, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 at her residence following a period of declining health.
Born on December 2, 1947 in Talbotton, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Allene Olsen and was also preceded in death by a Grandson, Garland Anthony Prather. Mrs. Prather worked as a hairdresser for 53 years, having last worked at the Hair Hutch in Jasper before retiring. Mrs. Prather was a cancer survivor and was also a member of Refuge Baptist Church.
She is survived by her Husband of 48 years, James William Prather, of Jasper, Georgia, Daughter and Son-In-Law, Denise and Tod Goss, of Tate, Georgia, Sons, Tony Prather and Jeff Prather, both of Jasper, Georgia, Sisters and Brothers-In-Law, Janie and James Willis, of West Point, Tennessee, Mary Parker of Jacksonville, Florida, Elizabeth Harvey, of Jasper, Georgia, Elaine and Bill Forrester of Gainesville, Georgia, and C.C. and Marty Messmer of Ellijay, Georgia, Brother and Sister-In-Law, Gilbert Jr. and Frances Olsen, of Jasper, Georgia, Best Friends, Barbara Holbert, JoAnn Norton, and Mary Jane Reid, 13 Grandchildren & 2 Great-Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, and Other Relatives also survive.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2PM Thursday, March 29, 2012 from Refuge Baptist Church. The Rev. Larry Johnson, Rev. Ricky Jarrett, and Rev. Claude Smithmire will be officiating with the interment to follow at the church cemetery. Those serving as pallbearers are Mr. Cory Goss, Mr. Benjamin Goss, Mr. Cameron Goss, Mr. Kelvin Prather, Mr. Chris Buckner, and Mr. Byron Prather.
The family will receive friends at Roper Funeral Home on Tuesday after 6 PM, all day Wednesday, and until the funeral hour on Thursday.
