Life Legacy
Mrs. Ruth Lorene Prather Batson, age 94, of Jasper, Georgia passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Tranquility Hospice of Kennesaw Mountain.
Born July 4, 1917 in Pickens County, Georgia, she was the daughter of Edward Prather and Amanda Alberta Ray Prather. Mrs. Batson was a dental hygienist all of her working career and was a member of the Refuge Baptist Church.
Mrs. Batson is survived by two Children, Daughter, Nancy Rochelle Thacker Hansard and Son, Ted Nathaniel Thacker, Son-In-Law, Jerry Lee Hansard and Daughter-In-Law, Sandra Stanley Thacker. She was also survived by 4 Sisters, Mrs. Lula Little, Mrs. Carolyn O’Neal, Mrs. Barbara Wood, Mrs. Ethelene Nix and 1 Brother, Ed Prather.
Mrs. Batson was preceded in death by her Husband, Charles Royce Batson.
Visitation will be held at Roper Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the Refuge Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Johnson and Rev. Carter Payne officiating with the interment to follow in Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will accept flowers; However, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Refuge Baptist Church.
