Abe was born January 8, 1942 in Ludville, Georgia to Luther and Lula Chastain Hightower. Abe is survived by his grandchildren, William David and Jessica Hunter of Fairmount, Julie and Sep "Chuck" Rezvani of Jasper, Laura and Jeremy Jones of Jasper; great-grandchildren, Evan Hunter, Skylar Hunter, Gloria Mae Hunter, Alizabeth Faith Hunter, Tyler Chastain, Kaine Chastain, Zackery Couch, Graice Rezvani; brother, RT "Boss" Hightower; sisters, Willa Faye Hancock, Frances Watson; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Linda Hightower; son-in-law, Jeremy Henderson; and partner, Ethel Long. Step-children, grandchildren, and many friends also survive. Abe was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Holcombe Hightower; daughters, Debbie House, JoAnn Henderson; and several brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 8, 2026 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Stanley Mulkey and Rev. Mark Caylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 from 12:00 pm until 9:00 pm; Wednesday from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm; and Thursday from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. Pallbearers are Bo Hightower, Danny Childers, Roger Mulkey, Ramond Cloud, Kelly Ray, David Hunter, Sep Revani, Jeremy Jones, Ricky Bell (honorary) and Cody Mulkey (honorary). A Memorial dinner will be held in Abe's honor on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 5:00pm at Bibleway House of Worship; 594 Old Whitestone Rd East, Talking Rock, GA 30175.
