She was born November 23, 1968 to Melvin and Barbara Godfrey in Canton, Georgia. Denise is survived by her husband, David Gilreath of Talking Rock; sons, Austin Davis of Jasper, Dakota Davis of Talking Rock; daughter, Maylee Gilreath of Ball Ground; grandson, Dallas Davis; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Kristy Godfrey, Darrell Godfrey, Daniel and Kerry Godfrey; stepmother, Marcia Godfrey of Ellijay; mother-in-law, Mildred Gilreath of Jasper. Several nieces, nephews, and other family members also survive. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Jerusalem Baptist Church with Reverend Leroy Kelley, Reverend Joseph Hightower, Reverend Stanley Mulkey, Reverend Terry Dean officiating. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
