She was born November 2, 1945 to Talmadge and Gladys Farriba in South Carolina. She was a member of Long Swamp Baptist Church. Barbara is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles Eric and Kelly Byers of Talking Rock; daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Joel McKinney of Canton; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Shea Byers of Jasper; grandchildren, Hannah and Sam Tate of Marietta, Emmaline McKinney of Canton. Several cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Byers; and her parents, Talmadge Farriba and Gladys Farriba Brediger. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 23, 2026 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday, January 23, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. The family will accept flowers or memorial donations may be made to Angels on Horseback.
