She was born June 5, 1945 to James L. and Millie G. Hogan in Canton, Georgia. Barbara is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and Ronnie Worley of Ball Ground, Donna and Mark Chastain of Ellijay, Kristie and Jody Sewell of Jasper; grandchildren, Brantley and Jessica Worley of Canton, Channing Worley of Ball Ground, DeLayna and Davey Denney of Talking Rock, Carlee and Jared Payne of Cumming, Nathan Sewell serving in the United States Marine Corp, Alexandra and Justin Morris of Talking Rock, Bethany and Brendan Schoepflin of Canton, Isabella and Logan Bristol of Fairmount, Lauran Sewell of Jasper, Ashlyn Sewell of Cedartown; great-grandchildren, Micah Denney, Oren Worley, Jaycee Payne, Hunter Tyra, Gianna Tyra, Sophia Tyra, and Henry Tyra and Shane Schoepflin; sisters-in-law: Rita Fountain and Glenda Fountain; special loved ones Violet and Jerry Padgett, Darlene and Gene Shaw, Brittany, Zach and Sadie McCallister, and Brandi and David Gilreath; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton "Mo" Fountain; parents, Jim and Millie Hogan; and sister, Sarah Stone. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, October 9, 2024 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Brantley Worley and Reverend Mark Chastain officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Forest Memorial Park in Jasper. Pallbearers will be Brantley Worley, Channing Worley, Nathan Sewell, Davey Denney, Jared Payne, Justin Morris, Brendan Schoepflin, Logan Bristol, and Frank McDaniel. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Padgett, Gene Shaw, Micah Denney, Oren Worley, Henry Tyra, and Shane Schoepflin. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Monday, October 7, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Tuesday from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm and Wednesday from 9:00 am until the funeral hour. The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
