She was born October 24, 1947 to Herbert and Estele Padgett in Jasper. Barbara is survived by her husband, Ed Maddox of Tate; daughter, Sherry Maddox of Tate; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Curtis Clark of Talking Rock; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Tim Brooks of Tate; brother and sister-in-law, Willis and Mickey Padgett of Ellijay. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Estelle Padgett; sister and brother-in-law, Opalene and Nillard Milligan. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2025 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Nathan Smith and Reverend Joshua Alsobrook officiating. Interment will follow in the Sharptop Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Friday, March 14, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time and would like in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Sharptop Baptist Church.
