She was born July 28, 1934 to Dolph and Rora Poole in Pickens County. Mrs. Ferrell was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jasper and a member of the Lions Club. Betty is survived by her husband, Ray Ferrell of Jasper; children, Pam and Richard Kirkland, Lavonne and Mark Doty; grandchildren, Brooke Kendall, Jennifer and Paul Bradley, Allison and Clint Saggus; great-grandchildren, Bryson and Campbell Thurmond, McKenzie Thurmond, Baylee Thurmond, Merritt Thurmond, Luke Kendall, Alexis Kendall, Grace Saggus, Georgia Saggus; great-great granddaughter, Kaden Thurmond; sister, Hazel Mullinax; and brother, Charlie Poole. Several nieces, nephews, and other family members also survive. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Jasper with Reverend Preston Jones and Reverend Lamar Long officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Jasper.
