Roper Funeral Home and Crematory 206 Holly St Jasper, GA 30143 (706) 253-7500 (706) 253-0040 www.roperfuneralhome.com Billy Price, age 88 of Jasper, Georgia passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022 at his home Mr. Price was born on December 30, 1933 in Cairo, GA, the son of Clinton Moye Price and Josephine Hobgood Price. He graduated from Boys High in Rome, GA, Macon University in Macon, GA, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, and Long Island University in New York. As a poor boy from south Georgia, he was proud of his two Masters Degrees. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War and as an Army Chaplain for over 17 years, including service in the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother (John "Dock" Price), and a son (Wm. Joseph Price). He is survived by his wife, Priscilla McGlaun Price, a son, Robert David Price, both of Jasper, a brother, Jack D. Price of Smyrna, a sister-in-law, Ramona Veeck of Sherman, TX, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. Memorial donations would be appreciated to the charity of your choice. A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday March, 9th at 2:30pm at Georgia National Cemetery: 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, GA 30114. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home Wednesday March 9th, from 11:00am until 1:00pm. Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
