He was born January 12, 1930 to Love and Belle Godfrey in Talking Rock, Georgia. Ceburn was a school bus driver for Pickens County for over 30 years and provided taxi service for the community at one time as well. Toward the end of his driving career, this allowed him to focus on his love for chicken and cattle farming. Ceburn is survived by his daughter, Trena Godfrey of Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Joy Godfrey of Talking Rock; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Martha Godfrey of Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Kenneth Lowman of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Adam and Michelle Godfrey, Damon Lowman, Lucy and Douglas Weatherford, T. J. Hester, Seth Godfrey, Isaac Crane, Eli Godfrey; great-grandchildren, Jack Godfrey, Julianna Godfrey; and sister-in-law, Mary Cook of Jasper. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Sue Godfrey; son, Lamar Godfrey; brothers, Cecil Godfrey, Earl Godfrey, James Godfrey, and Cleburn Godfrey. Services will be held Monday, December 18, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Rev. Wallace Parks and Rev. Buck Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Forest Memorial Park: 280 Camp Road; Jasper, GA 30143. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday, December 18, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
