She was born February 23, 1943 to J. P. and Pauline Jackson in Sparta, Georgia. Mrs. Wheeler is survived by her son, John Wheeler Jr. of Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Jeff Smith of Jasper; grandson, Dusty Wheeler and Kandis Golden of North Carolina; granddaughters, Lindsey and Kevin Davis of Sandy Springs, McCall Wheeler and D. K. Dooley of Toccoa; sister-in-law, Stella Sue Jackson of Sandersville; nephews, Sonny and Teresa Jackson of Sandersville, Mike and Pam Jackson of Tennille, Rick Jackson of Sandersville, Rick and Elaine Roberts of Ball Ground; great-grandchildren, Kingsley, Kamryn, and Mila. Several other family members also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Wheeler Sr.; parents, J.P. and Pauline Jackson; brothers, Jack Jackson and David Jackson. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2023 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Max Caylor officiating. Inurnment will follow in the First Baptist Church of Ball Ground Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour.
