He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Kirk Johnson and son, Cole Johnson. Clayton is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Lorie and Bill Higdon of Jasper; grandchildren, Mary Jo and Justin Dillard of Jasper, Lane and Dusty Nations of Jasper; great-grandchildren, Benson Dillard, Jackson Nations, Blaklee Dillard, Allie Nations; sisters and brother-in-law; Jackie Mullins, Gail Baldwin, Sandra and Joe Walker; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Bunny Johnson. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday May 12, 2026 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Jeremy Mullinax officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Monday, May 11, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
