Clifford was born in Dahlonega, Georgia on December 26, 1927 to Ben and Eva Brown Howard. Crook is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Danny Buckner; daughters, Janice Blackwell, Darlene McBee; sons, Terry Howard, Adam Howard, Timmy Howard; brother, Billy Howard; sister, Jennie Howard; sister and brother-in-law, Joann and Larry Hayes; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren. Crook was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Jannett Voyles Howard; son, Jimmy Howard; daughter, Betty Smith; daughter-in-law, Debbie Bradley; son-in-law, Matthew Blackwell; grandsons, Josh Howard, Daniel Ramey; and 11 brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 14, 2026 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Allen Garrett and Reverend Randy Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Forest Memorial Park: 280 Camp Road, Jasper, GA 30143. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Pallbearers are Cody, Justin, Brian, Rodney, Nate, Brandon, Travis, and Ryan. The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to help the family with funeral expenses.
