Obituary

Roper Funeral Home and Crematory 206 Holly St Jasper, GA 30143 (706) 253-7500 (706) 253-0040 www.roperfuneralhome.com Jan David Keller, born November 11, 1947, was a kind, loving, and generous man whose life touched everyone he met. David attended St. Joe's High School in Atlanta and graduated with his bachelor's degree from Georgia State University. David proudly served six years in the United States Navy during the 1960s as an Aviation Machinist's Mate Second Class, air traffic controller. For many years, he was co-owner and President at L.A.T. Sportswear in Ball Ground, Georgia. He loved traveling to trade shows, meeting new people, and making friends wherever he went. David married Becky Denney on November 21, 1992. Together, they shared a life filled with love, faith, family, golf, music, and countless memories. He loved Jimmy Buffett until the very end, as evidenced by the CDs in his car and the Jimmy Buffett radio station always on his radio. David loved golf and played several times a week until illness made it impossible. He treasured the friendships he made on the golf course. Even when he could no longer play, he enjoyed accompanying his granddaughter Gracie and his wife, Becky, to watch them play. David was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Becky; his son, Nicholas Keller, and daughter-in-law, Whitney; his stepson, Chris Denney, and daughter-in-law, Amy Denney; his brother, Steve Keller, and sister-in-law, Judy Keller; and his cherished grandchildren, Jack Keller, Claire Keller, Gracie Denney, and Will Denney. His grandson Will was not only family but also David's close friend and companion during the final years of his life. Usually, where you saw one, you saw the other. Several nieces and nephews also survive. David was preceded in death by his parents, Jan and Mary Keller, and his sister, Diane Keller Giordano. Most importantly, David was a man of God. As a member of Big Canoe Chapel, he was a Christian who loved Jesus and believed strongly in salvation. While many will mourn the loss of such an incredibly kind, loving, and generous man, we have hope in the resurrection and in the promise found in 1 Corinthians 15:22 "Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life." David-our beloved Papa-until we meet again.
