Donald Harold (Don) Bryant, age 72, of Jasper passed away Friday, April 10, 2026, at Jasper Point after a brief illness. Don was born on October 2, 1953 to the late William Harold (Harry) Bryant and Edith Lowery Bryant of Jasper. He was a lifelong resident of Pickens County and a 1971 graduate of Pickens High School.
Over the years, he worked at Burnt Mountain Center, the Pickens County Recreation Department, and the Bent Tree Tennis Center.
Don enjoyed watching and playing sports from an early age. Some of his best memories were playing with the old Pepsi softball team, hours spent on the old tennis courts by the Tech School, and coaching Rec Department Teams. He enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves, UGA football, the NCAA Final Four, and tennis' Grand Slams. He took great satisfaction in teaching tennis lessons and conducting clinics for countless students over the years.
His greatest enjoyment, however, was spending time with family whether enjoying a holiday meal followed by a competitive game of BINGO or Old Maid (where he always cheated), or watching old westerns, a Braves game, or other sporting event.
Don is survived by his daughter, Holly Abbott of LaGrange; grandson, John William (Will) Abbott of Valley, Alabama; granddaughter, Kayley (Josh) Cockrum of Dallas, Texas; sister, Sandi Bryant of Jasper; sister, Debbie (Richard) Korytoski of Cataula, Georgia; and nephews, Phillip Korytoski of Cataula, Andrew Korytoski of Cataula; aunt, Joyce Hayward of Cartersville. Numerous cousins and other family members also survive.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to CARES, Inc. of Jasper in his memory.
The family will receive friends and family at Roper Funeral Home, Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, April 19, 2026 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home. Interment will then be at Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
