Donnie had a love for fishing, hunting, and music. He loved all his family and friends, including his friends at Wildwood Nursing Home. We the family of Donnie would like to thank all the staff and patients who dearly helped care for him. We never had to worry about not being in good hands while there. Also, we extended a thank you to the hospice nurses who helped take care of Donnie. We will always be grateful for all the love and care everyone gave him. Survivors include: brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Kathleen Kirk; brothers, Norman Kirk, Joe Kirk; sister, Shirley Grant; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and James Stephens and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings, Jessie Godfrey, Hobbie Kirk and Benny Kirk. Funeral Services will be held at Roper Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2022 with Reverend Jason Segars officiating. Interment will follow in the Talking Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. and on Sunday, June 19, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
