Doug is survived by his wife, Layla Patterson of Talking Rock; sons and fiances, Jake Patterson and Britney Mooney of Jasper; Tyler Patterson and Gracie Ghorley of Jasper; son Garrett Patterson of Talking Rock; and son and daughter-in-law Cody and Emily Grant of Jasper; daughter, Alice Harkins; brothers, Dan Patterson of Fairmount, David Patterson of Soldonta, Alaska; grandson, Carter Coulter. Several aunts, uncles, other relatives and a host of friends also survive. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Shirley Patterson. Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 27, 2021 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Porado officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday, September 27, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
