She was born December 4, 1946 to Austin and Bulah Young in Jasper, Georgia. Edna is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Delorse and Johnny Shipman; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Marsha Tilson; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Mary Tilson; grandchildren, Christopher Tilson, Haley and Corey McClure, Nicole and Chris Hendon, Tiffany and Stephen Payne, Austin Tilson; great-grandchildren, Emma Payne, Waylon Nichols, Phillip Williams, Angel Godfrey, Cayden Hendon, Rylan Hendon, Hope Rymer, Kristina Tilson, Lydia Fisk; great-great-grandchildren, Dallas Gilreath, Chloe Rymer; sister, Stella Monforti; sister-in-law, Retha and Willie Lathem; special niece, Sybil Nix; her four-legged companion, Waymore (Littlebit). She was preceded in death by her husband, James Chastain; best friend of 70 years, Evelyn Fox; parents, Beulah and Austin Young. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 14, 2024 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lake Forest Memorial Park in Jasper. Pallbearers will be Chris Hendon, Corey McClure, Austin Tilson, Terry Allen, Lamar Buchanan, and Junior Tilson. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Friday, September 13, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
