Gary Robert Lloyd, 73, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Gary was born to the late Richard and Janet Lloyd in Bedford, Ohio. He grew up and settled in Valley View, Ohio before relocating to Georgia in 1989. Gary was married to Donna Lea (Pope) Lloyd.
Gary enlisted in the army at the age of 17 and trained at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was stationed in Germany and proudly served his country in Vietnam until his honorable discharge in 1975. Gary received a National Defense service medal, Vietnam Service and Campaign medals, a sharpshooter medal, and two Overseas service bars.
Gary had a long successful career in the crane industry. He worked for ALL Crane Rental of Cleveland, Ohio until transferring to ALL Crane Rental of Georgia. He served for a number of years as an operator then service manager, totaling 43 years with the company. After his retirement, he started a company of his own, Lloyd Enterprises, LLC, as a certified crane inspector, where he continued to serve the crane and rigging industry as a well-respected and trusted leader in the field. Gary was well known for his integrity, and his exceptional work ethic. He was revered by his peers and colleagues through the years.
Gary was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Not enough can be said about the ways he loved his family. He was the spiritual leader, provider, and protector of those he called his own. He was dependable to a fault. He went out of his way to be there for those he loved and came quickly to the rescue when needed. To say he was cherished by his family, friends, and colleagues would be a major understatement, the words are hard to find. Gary Lloyd was a strong man who loved to work hard. He was happiest on his tractor, working in his barn or outdoors. He loved riding around on his ATV with his dog on his lap.
Gary served in the mission field in Haiti building a church with his friend Ed Shreve. Gary was a devout believer in the God of the Bible. This was the cornerstone of his entire life and his work. His greatest blessing in life was seeing those he loved come to saving faith in Jesus Christ. It is his lasting wish to know his family and friends as brothers and sisters in Christ, with the promise of spending eternity together in Heaven.
He leaves his wife of 34 years, Donna Lloyd of Jasper, GA; children, Todd and Yukie Mann of Burns, TN, Heidi Smith of Jasper, GA, Kyle and Brooke Mann of Oxford, AL, Lon and Sharon Mann of Knoxville, TN, and Jenna and Brian Fuller of Jasper, GA; his grandchildren, Natalie, Samantha, Garrison (Maegen), Parker, Camden, Houston, Lucas, Aiden, Sara Kate, Avery, Lydia, Greyson, Tristan, Morgan, Jackson, and Kaitlyn.
