He was born November 23, 1936 to Retho and Myrtle Evans in Pickens County. He was a 1956 graduate of Pickens High School. Grady is survived by his wife, Melo Evans of Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Andrea Evans of Canton; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Greg Cowart of Jasper; grandchildren, Emily Evans of Canton, Brandon Evans (Heather) of Kennesaw, Griffin Cowart (Sarah) of Jasper, Evan Cowart (Taylor) of Canton. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, Retho and Myrtle Evans and his brother, Weldon Evans. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2022 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home. The interment will be Monday, February 28, 2022 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Friday, February 18, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 19 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Wounded Warriors or the charity of your choice. Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
