Herman is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Bradley Ray of Hinton, Shawn and Contessa Ray of Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Ron Evans of Hinton; stepson, Jack Harris of Waleska; sister, Willa Mae Mullinax; grandchildren, Alisha Blackwell, Whitney Tilley, Veronica Martin, Jordan Rawson, Rori Ray, Anthony Harris and Betrice Harris; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Ray; sister, Azzalee Silvers; brother, Herbert Ray and two grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held, Monday, October, 11 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Hinton United Methodist Church with Reverend Jim Schlidht and Johnny Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Ray will lie in state at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home and Crematory on Sunday, October 10, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday October 11, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
