She was born December 30, 1936 to Henry and Hattie McCowan in Camp Hill, Alabama. Idella is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Colleen Morgan of Stone Mountain; son and daughter-in-law, Evan and Elaine Morgan of Lithonia; daughter, Leneva Morgan of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Katharina Morgan and Randy Graham of Locust Grove, Dominique and Whitney Morgan of McDonough, Neal and Molly Morgan of Brookhaven, Evan and Chandrea Morgan, Jr. of Locust Grove; Christopher and Jasmine Morgan of St. Louis, Missouri, Imani Morgan of Stockbridge; great-grandchildren, Lylah Morgan, Emily Morgan, Emma Morgan, Teagan Morgan, Dominique Morgan, Jr. and Raya Morgan; brother, Charles McCowan of Athens; sisters-in-law, Helen McCowan of Jasper, Doris McCowan of San Diego, California, Joan Jackson of Forest Park, Constance Berry of East Point; brothers-in-law, Anthony Morgan of Atlanta and Eugene Morgan of Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ret. SFC Otis Morgan, Jr.; parents, Henry and Hattie McCowan; brothers, John L. McCowan, Booker T. McCowan, Melvin McCowan, Truman McCowan; sisters, Everleen McCowan, Dorene Brightwell; daughter-in-law, Teresa Morgan; sisters-in-law, Orris McCowan and Tina McCowan. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 28, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Scott McClure officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens at 1140 West Church Street, Jasper, GA 30143. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Friday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm. The funeral home will be open for friends to pay their respects on Thursday from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to The American Heart Association or the American Lung Association. Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
