She was born May 10, 1936 to Emory and Edna McClure in Maxeys, Georgia. Irene is survived by her daughters, Karen Honea of Marble Hill, Keri Johnson of Ball Ground; sons, Kris D. Taylor of Ball Ground, Keith Earl Taylor of Cumming, Karl B. Taylor of Ball Ground; five grandchildren, Delene and Jeremy Wolfe, Marie Thomas, Brittanie and BJ Jones, Johnathan and Natasha Honea, Lucas Johnson; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Several nieces, nephews, and other family members also survive. She was preceded in death by husband of 67 years, Jimmy E. Taylor; sisters, Edna Williams, Nancy Schlafke; brothers, Emory W. McClure, Gordon D. McClure, and Claude McClure. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2026 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Pastor Charlie Parish and Reverend Gordon D. McClure officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery.
