He was born August 3, 1967 to Martha Jo Richards in Tate, Georgia. Jack was a skilled mechanic, known for his steady hands. He spent his days fixing engines and lending a hand to anyone who needed it. More than that, he was a friend to many, an "Uncle," a "Dad," and a proud Gramps. Jack's legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the engines he brought back to life, and the love he gave so freely. Jack is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dustin and Brittany Richards of Talking Rock; grandchildren, Lillian "Lily" Richards of Talking Rock, Lucille "Lucy" Richards of Talking Rock; best friend, Linda Richards of Jasper; brother and sister-in-law, James and Bonnie Richards of Ellijay; nephews, Casey and Mary Richards of Ellijay, Christopher "Bubba" and Aja Goldey of Chatsworth; great-nephew and great-niece, Colt and Caia; cousin, Pat "Patsy" Burnette of Severville, Tennessee; friend, Sam Woodall of Jasper; and aunt, Mickey Carver "Aunt Mic" of Ellijay; and several other nieces, nephews and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Richards "Nana." A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 13, 2025 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Sunday, April 13, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
