Jake was born September 5, 1983, in Conyers, Georgia. Jake made a career in the natural gas industry and was known for his in-depth knowledge in the field. He was a foreman working for Diversified Utilities in Holly Springs. Jake loved his family and friends and was a notorious jokester. He will be greatly missed by all. Jake is survived by his mother, Rebecca Coker of Jasper, GA; father and step-mother, Jimmy and Jeanne Smith of Covington, GA; father in-law and mother in-law, Scott and Pam Dodd of Covington, GA; Grandfather, George Smith of Deland, FL; wife, Ashley Smith; 3 sons, Clayton Smith and Avery Smith of Jasper, GA and Lantry Smith of Conyers, GA; 2 daughters, Kinsley Smith and Kaylee Smith of Jasper, GA; brother, sister-in-law and niece, Dalton, Kayla and Jesse Smith of Covington, GA; brother in-law, sister in-law and nephew, Billy, Calais and Liam Parks of McDonough, GA; Aunts, Wanda Treadaway of Hickory, NC and Sherell Elrod of Covington, GA; Uncle Mike and Aunt Dori Smith of Covington, GA; along with several cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Archie Coker of Panama City Beach, FL; maternal grandmother, Charlotte Coker of McDonough, GA; paternal grandmother Louise Smith of Covington, GA. Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 13, 2022 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Glenn Arnold officiating. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Sunday, March 13, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour. He will be cremated after the funeral service.
