He was born December 15, 1947 in Canton to James Goodwin Jr. and Mary Alice Morgan Goodwin. Ed proudly served his country in United States Army in the Vietnam War. Ed is survived by his wife, Kathy Goodwin of Jasper; daughter, Sherry Lands of Chatsworth; son, Eddie Goodwin of Jasper; brother, Larry and Joyce Goodwin of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Darian and Steven Tutterrow, Dayna Mabry, Christen Lands, Hunter and Madison Goodwin, Bobo Elliott, Brayden Payne; five great-grandchildren and two on the way; in-laws, Ricky Herrington, Valerie and Ron Jenkins, Phillip and Lynn Herrington, Tony Herrington, Felecia Werlbaker. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. He was preceded in death by grandson, Ethan Goodwin; parents, James and Mary Alice Goodwin Jr.; and sister, Martha Pruitt. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 29, 2023 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lake Forest Memorial Park: 280 Camp Road; Jasper, GA 30143. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
