Jim was born to Cleon and Vaughendo Tom Lawson. He operated Lawson Nursery in the Yellow Creek Community for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Roper Lawson, son and daughter-in-law, Dick and Cookie Lawson; siblings, Blanche Strickland, Myra Mullinax, and Bill Lawson. Mr. Lawson is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Vickie Lawson; daugher and son-in-law, Gina and Fred Talley; grandchildren, Scott and Misty Lawson, Joe Lawson, Seth and Heather Talley, Erica and Eric Celler, Emily and Blayze Peterson, Beth Watkins, Brittney Thacker; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Celler, Amelia Celler, Ozzie Petersen, Isabelle Lawson, Madison Lawson, Lita Massengill, Lannie Massengill, Ava Phillips, Vance Phillips, Aniston Watkins, Tinley Watkins, Channing Thacker, and Blakley Thacker; and brother-in-law; Frank B. Mullinax. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 31, 2025 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Rev. William Blackwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Mica Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
