He was born October 22, 1955 to James Richard Tilley Sr. and Christine Collett Tilley in Tate, Georgia. Jimmy is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tina and David Beck of Jasper; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Cathy Tilley; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Charlie Chumley; sister, Pam Chumley; brother, Johnny Tilley; sister, Pat Chumley; grandchildren, Kelsey and Justin Rilling, Ryan Crump; great-grandchild, Kenleigh Sampson; and very special friend, Greg Gaddis. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his mother, Christine Yarborough; his father, JR Tilley Sr., his brother-in-law, Bud Chumley. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 23, 2024 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Joseph Hightower officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Forest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. The family request in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to Roper Funeral Home and Crematory to assist with funeral arrangements.
