He was born June 15, 1946 to C. L. Hammontree and Thelma Kuykendall Hammontree in Jasper, Georgia. Jimmie is survived by his wife, Connie Hammontree of Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmie and Amber Hammontree of Heath, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Shawn Pickelsimer of Jasper; sister, Bobbie Mosley of Jasper; grandchildren, Tate Hammontree, Allison Hammontree, Jenna Perry, Megan Perry, Alayna Pickelsimer, Emreigh Pickelsimer, and Isaiah Pickelsimer. Several other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2024 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with R. I. Griffith officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Shane Cronan, Darvin Pickelsimer, Shawn Pickelsimer, Ty Prather, and Mike Jones. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home Friday, April 19, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted as well as memorial donations to the local Marine Corps League; Detachment 1280; 744 Noah Dr. Ste. 133, # 125; Jasper, GA 30143.
