Marine, retired AT&T executive, business owner and founding Chamber member has left a legacy of dedication, reliability, respect and devotion. A long time member of the JC United Methodist Church, he was a staunch advocate of service to his faith, country, family and community. He served on numerous non-profit Board of Directors, including the Johns Creek Chamber, where he was elected as the Board Chair and then President/CEO of the Chamber (2011 - 2017). Upon his retirement, he and his wife, Vicki, immersed themselves in their many hobbies and friendships. The German Shepherd Dog Club of America (GSDCA), where they both served as judges, was very near and dear to him. They enjoyed much of their time outdoors exploring new areas, golfing, hiking, traveling, working with their dogs and enjoying time with their family and many friends. John is survived by his beloved wife, Vicki; his son, Matthew; two daughters, Sherrin Pittman, Catherine Cox (Chad); and three grandchildren, Sydney Pittman, Caden Cox and Cate Cox. John was predeceased by his parents, Everett Tracy Bemont and Beulah Bemont; a son, Alan Daniel Bemont; and a granddaughter, McKay Pittman. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Grandview Gateway Clubhouse on April 26, 2025 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Tunnels to Towers or the GSDCA Charitable Foundation. Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
