The family wrote:
Mama came into this world early. Family would talk about how small she was, but she was graced with the kindest, biggest heart. She met Daddy on the side of the road when he had traffic stopped for construction. She always said she just knew he was it, he was the one! Three months later, they were married. For 55 years, she has been his partner, in every sense of the word; a true Proverbs 31 woman.
When her kids came along, Joyce became Mama. She loved us fiercely, her "Tricia-Troll" and "My Sweet Little Boy." As the years went on, she became "Nanny" and Kaitlyn, Joli, Aiden, and Amelia experienced unconditional love from her.
Mama was a devoted Christian, saved at Crossroads Baptist Church at age 11. The greatest gift Mama gave all of us was her unwavering faith. She intended for each of us to know our Lord. We have the greatest comfort today because of her efforts and prayers on our behalf.
She extended her love and faith to all those around her. She cooked a meal, baked a cake, sent a card, called or hugged those hurting or in need. She never wavered in letting you know how good God is and how blessed she was.
Mama loved her life. She would say to Daddy, sitting on the bank fishing, "There's no where I'd rather be." She would tell her grandkids, "We need a Nanny day" and they'd play all day. We are so blessed to have had her in our lives.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us in this time. May God bless you all!
