Kathy Gail Weldy beloved wife, daughter, sister, mother, Memaw, and aunt of Jasper, Georgia passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 at the age of 67.
Wife of Roger Weldy for 45 years. Kathy and Roger carried and shared the load of this life on each others shoulders for many years through all the laughs and all the tears, the best of times and the worst of times. Their vows were met for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish always. What a wonderful gift God gives us to be able to share this life with a companion. The Bible tells us that "where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I with them." God has always been there with you and Kathy, Roger. God is here right now and will undoubtedly always be here for you. Talk to God often. He will continue being with you every moment moving forward. May your broken heart be mended by Gods love and the realization of the beautiful life you and Kathy were able to share with each other. You made her sparkle and now that light that sparkles shines down on you from above. Your journey is not over. Kathy will be with you each step you take.
Daughter of Donald and Helon Hammontree. Kathy loved her parents fiercely and never left either of their sides until they went home to the good lord. She took care of both of her parents until their last breaths here on this earth. I'm so thankful they are all back together. No more worries, no more loss, no more pain...
Sister of Danny Hammontree. Kathy idolized her brother. In her eyes he could do no wrong. She was as good as a sister a brother could ask for. Kathy spoke of her brother often and missed him dearly everyday. He was one of the most important people in her life and I am compelled to say possibly had the most influence of any other person she met in her journey of life. He was constantly in her thoughts and in her words. I'm so thankful they are back together. No more worries, no more loss, no more pain... God is good.
Mother of Mandy Cagle Stewart and Mother-in-Law to Nick Stewart, and Grandmother of Isaiah Roberts and Turner Stewart. Mandy was Kathy's best friend, as a mother and daughter should be. They were just alike. The strong qualities that Kathy had were handed down to her daughter who loves her family fiercely, works diligently, is a spitfire, and hard headed. A daughter to Kathy that gave her two grandchildren, Isaiah and Turner whom Kathy loved very much and was so very proud of them both. She never hesitated to spoil her grandchildren and praise how much they meant to her. And finally, with the fire that Kathy inherited over to Mandy, Mandy fought to save Kathy's life to the very last moment. A true mother's hero you have proven to be. How proud Kathy must be of you Mandy. I know that I am. We all are. What a great daughter you have been. I know you will always miss your mother. But her hard work here is done. I pray that peace will find you swiftly. I pray that a red cardinal finds you soon, so you can say hello again as all your angels continue to watch over you each day.
Aunt of Stephanie Hammontree Duncan and Scott Hammontree. Kathy has always been there. One of my fondest memories of my Aunt Kathy was playing yahtzee many times on the living room floor of Nanny and Pawpaws house. She was always laughing and enjoying the moment. She got her laugh from her father Donald. You could hear her laughter over an auditorium full of people. As heads would turn to find the contagious laughter that was in the room. She never tried to quiet her laughter. Her laughter would shake the walls of a room and force everyone around her to smile and laugh along with her. Kathy was Danny's only sibling, his little sister. I'm so thankful they are back together. No worries, no loss , no more pain... Just laughter. God is so good.
