He was born July 27, 1947 to D.T. and Margie Bruce in Canton, Georgia. Lamar is survived by his wife, Debra Bruce of Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, Jerimy and Mary Bruce of Ball Ground; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Darin Foster of Dawsonville, Cassandra and Jon Asel of Winder; sisters and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and James Ray of Jasper, Barbara Jones of Jasper; brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Becky Bruce of Jasper; special nephew, Dalton Bruce of Jasper; grandchildren, Josh Silvers, Gary Silvers, Brady Cook, Brittany Thomas, Ashton Bruce and five great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and other family members also survive. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Margie and D.T. Bruce; brother-in-law, Alan Jones. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 10, 2022 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Doug Bruce, Dalton Bruce, Nathan Jones, Brian Jones, Nathan Ledbetter, Brady Cook, and Kirk Garner. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Sunday, October 9, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday, October 10, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to Roper Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
