She was born February 14, 1931 to Fletcher and Mary Brown in Hartwell, Georgia. Ruth is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Sheila Lovern of Jasper, Keith and Janice Lovern of McDonough; daughter and son-in-law, Juanita and Tommy Tatum of Jasper; 7 grandchildren, Rachel and Don Gravitt, Erin and Phillip Martin, Melanie and Wesley Farron, Brady and Marie Lovern, Corrie and Billy Booth, Casey and Ryan Shostak, Jacob and Amy Tatum; 15 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Ann Brown of Athens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Loyd Lovern. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Jasper United Methodist Church with Reverend Max Caylor; Reverend Greg Meadows; and Reverend Charles Scott officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will be the pallbearers, Don Gravitt, Phillip Martin, Jacob Tatum, Wesley Farron, Brady Lovern, Billy Booth, and Ryan Shostak. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. The family will accept flowers or donations may be made in Ruth's memory to Jasper United Methodist Church.
