She was born December 13, 1942 to Kelsey and Gertrude Fulmer in Newton, New Jersey. Margie dedicated her life to helping others in the community. After moving to Pickens with her husband in 1984 she immediately began working with the North Georgia Community Action Agency and DFACS. Because of her passion for children and families she founded Prevent Child Abuse Pickens in 1995, and served as executive director until her retirement in 2018. After her retirement she continued her life's work by being active with Angels on Horseback, Boys and Girls Club, and Optimist Club. Marjorie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, George Michael Lohman Jr. and Judy Lohman of Darien; daughter and son-in-law, Kelsey Michelle Byers and Charles Eric Byers of Talking Rock; son, Marc Christopher Lohman of Jasper; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Robert Miller of Jasper; grandchildren, Chastity and Daniel Petty of Hanover, Maryland, Steven Aaron and Erin Elizabeth Lohman of Talking Rock, Elizabeth Mae and Brandon Sauerbrei of Yulee, Florida, Hannah and Sam Tate of Marietta, Tyler Lohman of Jasper; great-grandson, Lane Lohman; nephews, Jeremy and Aileen Miller of Philadelphia, Joshua and Jackie Miller of Ball Ground; and great nephew, Porter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kelsey and Gertrude Fulmer; and husband, George Michael Lohman. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2023 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Optimist Club, Boys and Girls Club or Angels on Horseback. Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
