He was born February 13, 1965 to Harvey and Loneva Blackwell in Cumming, Georgia. Matthew is survived by his wife, Janice Blackwell of Ball Ground; daughters, Tiffany Blackwell (Andrew Hulsey) of Talking Rock, Toni Ashley Smith (Eddie Olaughlin) of Blue Ridge, Shannon Ramey of Marble Hill; sons, Travis Ramey (Katrina Tilley) of Marble Hill, Matthew Blackwell (Jessica) of Adairsville; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Pamela Blackwell; sisters and brothers-in-law, , Cindy Holden, Leisa Ramey, Lynn and Kenny Chumley, Christy Blackwell, Stephany and John Castleberry; 18 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Loneva Blackwell; and son, Daniel Ramey. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2025 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend William Blackwell and Christopher "Bubba" Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Forest Memorial Park at 280 Camp Road; Jasper, GA 30143. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
