Michael was born in Tate, Georgia on June 3, 1959 to Waymon and Lola Belle Young. Michael moved to Tennessee in 2008 and was a resident of the Lake Vista Group Home. Even though he was a Georgia boy, he loved his Tennessee Vols. He enjoyed art classes, fishing, shopping, parties and vacations to Gaitlinburg with his fellow roommates and staff. Michael also worked part time for the Tennessee Department of Transportation. Michael is survived by his sister Patsy Cochran (Herman) of Jasper; brothers, Larry (Wanda) Young of Jasper, Gary Young and Ricky Young of Jasper. Several. nieces, nephews, cousins and host of friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, Sgt. Bobby A. Young, Jimmy Young and Randall Lee Young. Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 25, 2022 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home and Crematory on Sunday, April 24 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, April 25, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
