He was born February 7, 1935 to Andrew and Lula Jones in Talking Rock, Georgia. Gene is survived by his wife, Ann Jones of Talking Rock; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Kelly Jones of Talking Rock; grandchildren, Aiden Phillip Jones of Talking Rock and Calloway Opal Jones of Talking Rock. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 5, 2023 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Ronnie Ray and Reverend James Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
