"Reb" Tidwell, age 78, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025 at home. He was born December 25, 1946 to Virgil and Mildred Tidwell in Jasper, Alabama. Reb is survived by his wife, Carolyn Tidwell of Jasper; sons and daughters-in-law, DeWyatt and Wanda Tidwell of Jasper, Bryan and Kamala Tidwell of Gloucester, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Coneta Tidwell of Jasper, Alabama, Leonard "Rip" and Dewana Tidwell of Jasper, Alabama; grandchildren, Kevin Tidwell, Kelley and Josh Childs, Darla and Bruno Lopez, Kyle Tidwell, Brooke Tidwell, Haleigh Tidwell, Keira Tidwell; and great-grandchild, Theo Lopez. Many nieces, nephews and other family members also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Fran Tidwell. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He will lie-in-state at the church on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
