She was born December 19, 1939 in Hapeville, Georgia. Rachel was married to the late, Willis "Cotton" Goss. She served as Pickens County Tax Commissioner for several years. Rachel is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Greg Jones of Jasper, Regina and Michael Smith of Jasper; grandchildren, Joshua and Ingrid Ellis, Justin and Katie Ellis, Emma Clark, Gregory Clark, Ansley Smith, Adam Smith; and sister, Anne Bryson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Goss. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2024 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Greg Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to the Pickens Animal Rescue. Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
