He was born July 11, 1936 to Charlie and Gladys Wilkie in Tate, Georgia. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force National Guard Reserve. Reverend Wilkie is survived by his wife of 68 years, Evelyn Plumley Wilkie of Tate; daughter, June of Tate; grandchildren, Blake of Ellijay, Brooke of Tate; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Reagan, Emmie, and Harlan Jase. He was preceded in death by parents, Charlie and Gladys Wilkie; daughters, Regina Wilkie and Sherry Wilkie; brother, Edward Wilkie; sisters, Edna Mae Beasley, and Flondell Cagle. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 26, 2026 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Grant Wade and Reverend Nathan Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Free Hope Baptist Church Cemetery at 156 Free Hope Road; Jasper, GA 30143. Pallbearers will be Marty Dorsey, Joey Jones, Josh Lewis, Ryne Cox, Jamey Plumley, and Blake McDaniel. Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Plumley, Truman Plumley, Harold Plumley, and Rodney Plumley. In lieu of flowers, make memorial contributions to Free Hope Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. The family requests that food not be brought to the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
