He was born January 9, 1931 to James Calvin and Thursie Taylor in Eton, Georgia. Robert is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ruthalee Cagle Taylor of Jasper; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Ruth Taylor of Jasper. A host of nieces, nephews, and other family members also survive. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 14, 2024 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Brother David Jones and Reverend Buck Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery at 2540 Bethany Road; Jasper, GA 30143. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Taylor, Nathan Taylor, Phillip Taylor, Billy Harrison, Van Harrison, and Richard O'Shields. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. The family will accept silk flowers or donations may be made to Bethany Baptist Church.
