Waechter, age 78, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. He was born September 10, 1947 to Henry and Margaret Waechter in Dearborn, Michigan. Bob proudly served his country as a United States Marine Bob is survived by his wife, Yvonne S. Waechter of Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Jennifer Waechter of Nashville, Tennessee; daughter and son-in-law, Brandi and John Thomas of Chattanooga, Tennessee; daughter, Bethany Gessman of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Diana Gehring of Canton, Georgia; and cats, Rosco Rabbit and Cleopatra. A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m., April 24, 2026 at Trinity Church at 2685 Steve Tate Highway; Marble Hill, Georgia 30148. There will be a private interment at Georgia National Cemetery.
