He was born January 31, 1943 to Garland and Annabel Wood in Canton, Georgia. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He belonged to Local 72 and was Past Master 1996 of Ball Ground Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, cryptograms, and camping. Bob is survived by his wife, Donna Carter-Wood of Ball Ground; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Douglas Dulaney of Manassas, Virginia; son, Robert Wood of Denver, Colorado; stepson and daughter-in-law, Chris and Brooke Carter of Ball Ground; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Meg and Derek McNutt of Atlanta; grandsons, Blake Carter, Austin Carter; granddaughters, Camdyn Carter, Annistyn Carter; brother, Donald Wood of Adairsville; brother-in-law, Hugh Balboni of Safety Harbor, Florida. Several nieces, nephews, and daughter-in-love, Phyllis Staray also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shelba Wood; his parents, Garland and Annabel Wood; his son, Jeffrey Wood; and his sister, Pat Balboni. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 4, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Jasper with Revered Preston Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park at 120 Memorial Drive; Canton, GA 30114. The family will be receiving friends at the First Baptist Church of Jasper, Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
