He was born January 16, 1932 to Otto and Mattie Lou Rich in Tate. Roger proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was employed at Lockheed for over 30 years. He was a member of Free Hope Baptist Church. Roger is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Faye Rich; daughters, Joni Young, Judy Greer (John); and granddaughter, Elizabeth Gurr (Josh). He was preceded in death by brothers, Hubert Rich, Johnny Rich; and son-in-law, Larry Young. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Free Hope Baptist Church with Reverend Autry Dean officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Free Hope Baptist Church. The family also asks no food be brought to the funeral home. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation for the love, support, and medical care received form the staff of Compassus Hospice.
