She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on September 12, 1940 to Thomas and Edwina Brazil. Sandra later moved to Bessemer, Alabama with her family, where she lived near her cousins. She later returned to Atlanta and attended Russell High School, where she met George Burns, her husband of 48 years. They raised three children, Bob, Allison, and Melanie and faithfully attended Hillcrest Church of Christ, Snellville Church of Christ, and Northside Church of Christ. Sandra loved, decorating, crafting and shopping. She worked at a floral shop for several years and helped George with Rex Furniture Company. They later moved to Jasper to run Papa's Pizza. After George's passing, she later met and married Paul Williams who died shortly after. In January 2014, she married "her only sunshine," Tom Weir. They shared the sweetest love for each other. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Burns; second husband, Paul Williams; infant sister, Barbara Brazil; and daughter-in-law, Charlene Weir. Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 10 years, Tom Weir of Jasper; their children, Robert Burns, Allison and Joel Jones, Melanie Costley, Carol and Larry Morris, Susan and Gary Ross, Jeff Weir; brother and sister-in-law, Lance and Gloria Brazil; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 1, 2024 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Terry Burress officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery: 1680 Westview Drive SW; Atlanta, GA 30310. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Northside Church of Christ in Jasper. Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
