Selma Worley Turner, age 88, of Marble Hill, Georgia, passed away on August 20, 2023, in her home in Big Canoe, Georgia.
Selma was born on June 6, 1935 to Wade and Mary Worley. After graduating from Pickens High School, and living and working for a brief time in Atlanta, she met and married Clark Turner of Alpharetta, Georgia. Clark had three sons - Joe, Jerry and Jim Turner. Clark and Selma went on to have a fourth son, Jeff Turner. Clark and Selma were married for 42 years before Clark passed away in October 2006.
Selma enjoyed various careers in her life but none more than working side-by-side with her husband in their business, Associated Concrete Products and Supply, in Ball Ground, Georgia.
During her working career she also made time to support her children's interests in competitive clogging and sports. Clark and Selma enjoyed their time away from the office by gardening, camping near and far in their RV and spending time at their beach house. She was a great cook, loved to bake, and was a big Braves fan.
Selma was predeceased by her mother, Mary Worley; her father, Wade Worley; her husband, Clark Turner; and her step-son, Joe Turner. She is survived by her sister, Brenda; her children, Jerry Turner (Katie), Jim Turner, and Jeff Turner (Rhonda) plus grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation and the funeral service will be held at Roper Funeral Home in Jasper, Georgia at 206 Holly Street; Jasper, GA 30143 on Thursday, August 24. Visitation will be at Roper Funeral Home from noon until 2:00 p.m. and the funeral will begin at 2:00 p.m. immediately following visitation.
