Sharon was born September 23, 1966. She was preceded in death by her parents, J. A. (James Andrew) Townsend and Hazel West Townsend. Sharon had a deep love for family history, playing the piano, and going to church. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and later Town Creek Baptist Church. Sharon was loved by many, with family in every corner - she truly was everyone's cousin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jay and Clomia Long West and Sollie and Gay Dean Townsend. Sharon is survived by her family who were also her caretakers, Brandy and Jacob VanSant and Deborah and Gary Waters. She is also survived by uncles and aunts, Raymond West, Gene and Judy West, Herbert Miller, Ester Pinyan and Jean Hall along with many cousins. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Friendship Baptist Church in Ludville with David Jones, Jeremy Mullinax, and Jason Hancock officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Saturday, December 27, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 28, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Our sincere thanks to the Staff at Wildwood Nursing Home for their dedicated and loving care.
